It offers an overview of trends on each of the SDGs and analyses the cross-sectoral connections among the goals.
Establishing partnerships and promoting collaboration among all stakeholders has been repeatedly raised as vital to the successful implementation the SDG's in various fora. This work highlights this and gives examples of how the Bank is doing so. For example, the Bank signed a Strategic Partnership Framework with the United Nations to consolidate joint commitment to help countries implement the 2030 Agenda.
Finance and data are both issues which Platform members are increasingly working on together, within the framework of a new "SDG 2 roadmap inititative" This WBG publication highlights key opporrunities for leveraging finance such as improving domestic resource mobilisation, increasing the involvement of the private sector, as well as the development of tools that support the provision of public goods or any other relevant activity. It includes a summary of the WBG work on supporting financing for the SDGs and utilises data from several sources.
On the topic of data, the work covers how the Bank is working to improve the effectiveness of efforts to meet the SDG targets and indicators, as well as address gaps in the production and use of data needed to assess progress at the country and global levels.
