The 2022 Annual General Assembly (AGA) was an engaging two days of in-person and virtual participation, entirely dedicated to “Implementing National Pathways for Food Systems Transformation to Accelerate Progress Towards the SDGs in Times of Crisis and Conflict”. The special session "Building Consensus and Coordination on the Current Global Crisis Response Initiatives: The Potential Role of Donors and the GDPRD" was a key moment for a high-level panel conversation on how to align mechanisms, risk assessments, and the role of donor architecture for coordination.

The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) released a white paper to provide global donors with a menu of options to transform our food systems, to make them more resilient and sustainable.
Donors have a critical leveraging role in catalysing food systems change. This paper attempts to provide clear directions under seven action areas to focus their attention and efforts. Based on the work and findings of the Platform over the last two years, the paper offers a set of responses and priorities for donor engagement and a menu of options for future donor commitments.

IFAD’S RURAL DEVELOPMENT REPORT 2021
IFAD launched its flagship publication The Rural Development Report (RDR) 2021 in September, on “Transforming food systems for rural prosperity”. This year’s edition of the RDR emphasizes the inextricable link between food systems transformation and efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty.

PLATFORM STRATEGIC PLAN 2021–2025
The new Platform Strategic Plan 2021–2025 situates the work of the Platform across the domains of food systems, food and nutrition security, agriculture and rural livelihoods. It recognizes the Platform’s particular focus and orientation towards SDG 2 and the intersection with other SDGs.

REPORT ON DONOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO FOOD SYSTEMS
This GDPRD stocktaking report provides a mapping of the patterns and scale of food systems-related funding and an assessment of the extent donors are embracing a food system framing and aligning their investments to the UN Food Systems Summit Action Tracks.

State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World
This year’s report should dispel any lingering doubts that the world is moving backwards in its efforts to end hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in all its forms. We are now only eight years away from 2030, but the distance to reach many of the SDG 2 targets is growing wider each year.

LAND TENURE AND SUSTAINABLE AGRI-FOOD SYSTEMS
This policy document on land tenure and sustainable agri-food systems is a collaboration between the ILC, FAO and GLTN, with support from the GDPRD. The report stresses the critical importance of land access and land tenure for more sustainable agri-food production and consumption systems.
